Hey there...
Well, I have decided it is best to prepare for my run tomorrow ahead of time.
I plan to do my "long run" tomorrow at 7:00AM with a local running club.
Each Saturday, I will increase the distance of my long run which helps build my endurance.
Running with my ipod is something I have never done....ever. I have used it on my treadmill but never outdoors. I am going to attempt to run with it tomorrow, although I expect to get a few funny looks and stares from others when I do. It seems to be kind of tabu for the elite runners to use an ipod.
I took a look on line in search of some running music to put on my iPod. or MP3 are very personal. However, I'm going to attempt to cover some of the best motivators I've found all kinds of material including audiobooks and people talking, rather than reading or singing. I'm considering adding some of those in for variation. I am also considering a Nike + iPod shoe insert to use with my iPod Nano. I have learned quite a bit about using it including the fact that I can program in my most motivating song and have it start to play on demand.
I found tons of material on music down loads, some of them were free downloads, and music to transfer directly to my ipod but honestly, I didn't find a source of the kind of music that appeals to me. But frankly speaking....the kind of music that appeals to me changes as my moods do. I may want smooth jazz one day, another day R&B, and then I could consider a little bit country ....or a little bit Rock and Roll! I feel like I'm channeling Donnie and Marie here!
Oh well, I will settle for the songs I have already and will consider adding more after I decide if running with my ipod is a good idea or not.
Good night!

Dear Bridge Runner
I have always found running with my Ipod helps to take my concentration off looking at the clock.I expect you to find it helpful too.I am also a huge lover of Smooth Jazz and old R&B music most especially, the 80's and the 90's.You should check out some old Dynasty songs, they are pacy and good for running. Also,Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons have some good songs that i enjoy while running.Do let me know some of the good audiobooks, i'll be interested in trying that during my workout.Enjoy your running tommorrow and do keep it up.
Once again,its me

Tar Heel,
Thanks again for your note.
I have listed some of my favorite running songs on the blog today. I have many more on the IPOD, but of course I wont get to hear them until I increase my distance. I play the same list of songs each time so being able to listen to a new song represents a milestone in some ways...you know?

I totally agree with you. What I do on the other hand is have my ipod randomly pick songs,I kinda like the anticipation and the suspense,so when the next song comes on and its one i love, adrenalin flows again and i get a new burst of energy.
I am doing an intense workout regimen at the moment too,I can't wait for the next time i'll be checking my body fat and BMI,I am hoping the hardwork has paid off and its closer to the goal.
I have been doing great beating Mr P. in the last month or so, keep doing it,we got the power.
Tar Heel B.
